Student Parent Orientation Program (SPOP) is UCI's summer orientation program for incoming undergraduate students! This summer, all SPOPs will be hosted remotely.

SPOP will consist of online modules, opportunities to meet with current and other incoming students virtually, and more!

All first-year students are required to complete their SPOP.

Orientation will consist of two parts:

1. SPOP Canvas

You will have access to SPOP Canvas starting July 15. We will be releasing content on Canvas for you to complete on your own time! 

We will also be hosting Zoom calls to meet other current and incoming students! This schedule will be available on Canvas.

Orientation will consist of two parts:

2. TSPOP Canvas (optional but highly recommended!)

TSPOP Canvas

All transfer students will be assigned to a TSPOP Canvas. Completion is optional but highly recommended!

You will have access to TSPOP Canvas in mid-July. Modules will be released throughout the summer which you can complete on your own time!

You will not need to make a reservation for SPOP. Check your Orientation Dashboard to find your assigned SPOP.

For First-Year Students:

First-Year students will be assigned to SPOP 1 through SPOP 10.

• Students with priority registration will be assigned to SPOP 1 or SPOP 2.

  • Campuswide Honors Collegium students

  • Intercollegiate Athletes

  • Regents Scholars and Directors' Scholars

  • Student Veterans

  • Verified foster youth or former foster youth

• Students participating in Freshman Edge will be assigned to SPOP 5.

• All other students will be randomly assigned to SPOPs 1-10.

For domestic first-years, your SPOP will determine when you will receive academic advising and sign up for classes for Fall Quarter. View the schedule on our Academic Advising page.

For international first-years, your academic advisors will contact you directly with instructions on how to sign-up for classes.

For Transfer Students:

All transfer students have been assigned to TSPOP A through TSPOP F.
